Telenor Venture and TeleVenture

Telenor Venture AS, the venture capital arm of the Telenor Group, was founded as TeleVenture AS in April 1993. In 1998 it was decided to form a management company, TeleVenture Management AS.

The management company was set up separately from the VC fund to further strengthen and clarify roles and structure, and to enhance the fund managers’ incentive system and enable the establishment of additional venture capital funds.

Business idea
Our business idea is to sell information and communication technology shares or companies after active development and contribution of expertise, network and risk capital.
We have been involved in listing portfolio companies on the Oslo Stock Exchange, the Stockholm Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ, and the Neuer Markt.

Investments
Since 1993 we have invested in more than 70 companies in Telenor Venture AS. We have achieved a compound annual return (Internal Rate of Return) based on pre-tax value adjusted equity in the period 1993 - 2000 of approximately 43%.
Telenor Venture AS was sold desember 2003, Telenor Venture III AS was sold desember 2004 and Telenor Venture II ASA was sold in 2006.
